Beginning my Barn Assignment

The barns here in America are very different from those in South Africa, they are usually concrete structures and not nearly as picturesque. Most times they are referred to as sheds.
The following 3 photos were taken near the Drakensberg in KwaZulu Natal.
Picture
The photo includes barns and silos on a well run dairy farm in the district.

Here you see a restored old barn on the farm we ran.  The corral is built from stone.

This picture is a very old shearing shed, restored with holding pens added.

These two old, interesting barns below are on a tranquil, laid back farm in the Natal Midlands.

Barns on an old dairy set-up, but these days are no longer used as a dairy.  This farm is also in the midlands of Natal.

Picture
This old barn is in Knoxville, Tennessee, USA.  It is pretty, neat and working.

Flanking the motorway just outside Knoxville, I found this creeper-covered barn and snapped the two photos below. The Short side faces the road.

I feel sad for this barn, on duty but lonely in its unattractive surroundings. Also in the Knoxville area.

This derelict barn below in the two photos are also in the Knoxville district. To me, it is interesting and beautiful in its dilapidated state. It kind of tells its own story.

A happy, little barn situated in the clearing next to dilapidated barn.
Picture
Probably disused but attractive this barn rests amidst the green foliage of its surroundings.
Picture
A little barn in a shady nook.

I cheated and took these three photos below at the Appalachian Museum.

A modern day American Barn done up as the reception area.
Picture
A quaint wagon barn from a bygone era.
Picture
A barn also from a different age.

Thank you Rebecca. They are very special to me because it was the first time I had been in 'real snow.' Also the farm holds many wonderful memories.
